September/October 2007 Report
Dear Friends:
The Lord has not stopped blessing us, and has provided many opportunities for planting
the seed of the good news in the lives of thousands.
Yes, we continue to have our challenges but we are triumphant through Christ,
the one who leads this ministry.
Bad News/Good News:
We have had several people in our ministry pass away, however all were believers.
I conducted two of the services.
One was for a younger single lady who died of cancer, and the other was a grandmother
and a mother of some of the people in this ministry.
Although the death of these ladies was tragic, particularly the younger one,
God turned these negative situations into an opportunity for over five hundred people
to hear of His endless love and grace.
Three families were impacted by the gospel, and have been eager to learn more.
Pray for their continued understanding and for fruit of salvation.
Family Bible Study:
The Lord opened the door to lead the church through a six-week series for families.
We held a Monday group and a Saturday group.
To my surprise, a few who are not part of the church signed up and the results were amazing.
Due to confidentiality, I will spare you the details; however God is doing a great work in
the hearts of many of the younger couples who attended.
This was a great opportunity for people to learn fellowship, experience discipleship,
understand God's design for relationships,
and know more about the story of the Christ and His love.
We had 26 in total commit to this study.
Training:
We held a training day for all teachers, leaders and new trainees.
We had 25 in total.
The focus of this day was maturity, preparation, presentation, and teamwork.
Please pray for protection from division and growth in the above areas.
Three men completed a four-week study we were offering on how to study and understand the
Bible.
All three, plus another man, who took the one day training, are now teaching, and I am praying
that some will take a step by faith into further ministry.
They certainly have the gift.
Pray for commitment, passion, and growth.
Upcoming Baptism:
One lady and two young men approached me about their baptism.
In this country one has to be very patient regarding this subject.
Here, it takes months before we even know people have trusted Christ.
People are more reserved about their faith and eventually they take the steps for baptism,
membership, discipleship etc.
What is so unique about this family is that they are so eager to be baptized ASAP?
You see, they have been under persecution by a different belief system (take a guess)
for many years, and now they have been set free.
They can't wait!
The Largest Arabic Outreach in our History:
The Lord has opened the door for us to hold a big event to reach Arabic speaking people
on December 17, 2007.
We are distributing 14,000 invitations, and 1000 CDs which include the gospel.
We booked a large building that can seat 700 people and we expect to fill it.
We need your prayers for protection from any kind of violent interference at this event.
Pray that the seed of the gospel will be planted in the hearts of many regardless of their
religious backgrounds.
Although we live in an apathetic part of the world, God's Word and His power are always at work.
Thank you for being a vital part of this ministry through your prayers and sacrificial giving.
Your Missionaries,
Silas & Amanda
